As it can be easily deduced from its name, MP3 Toolkit is a set of tools which allow you to perform different tasks with your MP3 files. The program's functions include audio conversion, audio extraction, audio-CD ripping, MP3 tag edition, audio merging, audio cutting, and MP3 recording. Besides, several of these tools can work not only with MP3 files but also with other audio formats, like WAV, WMA, Ogg, M4A, FLAC, and others.
The program's main window acts as a main menu, which gives you access to all the tools available. Each tool, when selected, runs in a separate window. I will now describe some of the most useful tools. The MP3 converter supports batch conversion, and it can convert audio files from one format into another or extract the audio streams from your video files and save them as audio files. The MP3 tag editor allows you to change the tag information of your MP3 files, and it also works in batches. You can set the title, the artist, the album name, the year, the genre, the track number, and add some comments. With this tool, you can also rename your MP3 files automatically, based on the existing tag information.
MP3 Merger allows you to add multiple MP3 ─ or WAV, FLAC, and Ogg ─ files, and join them together into a single MP3 file. And as you may have guessed, MP3 Cutter performs the opposite operation. It allows you to open a single audio file and remove any unwanted part from it. This tool allows you also to open a video file to extract and cut its audio. Both the MP3 Merger and the MP3 Cutter can only output files in MP3 format, though. Finally, the MP3 Recorder tool allows you to capture audio from your microphone ─ or your sound card analog input ─ and save it as a MP3 file.
Undoubtedly, MP3 Toolkit offers you a complete set of tools that will allow you to perform the most common tasks with your audio files, all in a single and comfortable environment.
